Gottfried Pössl, photographer:
„The artist was born on 1st of January 1961 in Wels, Austria. He graduated in computer sience at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. From his youth, he was enthusiastic about creating pictures. For many years he practiced photography as self-taught artist and produced elaborate documentations of other countries and cultures. Gottfried presented the pictures of his photo journeys to the audience in the form of multi-vision shows.
Since 2011 he has been dealing professionally with photography and became Member of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. Today he lives and works as a professional- and press photographer in Puchenau near Linz (Austria).
Over the years, Gottfried Pössl perfected his skills as a photographer by reading books and internet research, as well as taking a lot of pictures to implement the learned immediately. „Learning from the best“ is one of his motto, which is why he completed the 2-year course for artistic and applied photography at the Prague Photo School Austria with very good results. This was followed by further coaching sessions with professional photographers, such as Michael Maritsch and Jens Brüggemann, to name but a few.
Professionally he serves the genres product and advertising photography, architecture, sports & event photography, business photography, as well as people- and portrait photography. Since 2017 he is accredited photographer of the Austrian Ski Association. As part of his artistic photography he still deals with analogue photography, where interresting projects are created with a large format pinhole camera on sheet film. These pictures are presented in group exhibitions at the Tschik Gallery in Linz.
